Friday at Luminant Teacher Academy
Friday we started out with a workshop on coal with a lady from North American Coal. Some good information to pass along to the students. We then had a mock hearing on opening a mine. Earlier in the week we had each drawn a character to play in the hearing. Mine was a environmental activist. I had to turn on the acting but we all had some fun and everybody seemed to be laughing and enjoying the "hearing". Reflecting upon the week, I would encourage other teachers to participate in this program. It is a wonderful academy, fun, yet very informative. I have met several people with whom I hope to maintain contact and we will be able to grow in our teaching endeavors together. To the staff of TMRA, keep up the good work.
