School has started, BIG TIME.... One week of staff development, first week of school, 2nd week of school, all one big blur. Staff development was a chance to get back up to speed after the summer break. I felt that alot of good information was to be had. The last two days were spent mostly trying to get my room ready. The first week of school flew by. I gave three days of assessment testing, Social Studies and Science. We have a long way to go for these kids to be ready for the Science TAKS. Previous years have left the students severely deficient in the necessary knowledge base and I have to bring the students up to 5th grade standards quickly. My 2nd week was cut short by the labor day weekend. Boy did I ever need it. The students are showing some promise and I am looking forward to a good year.
